Community
The idea of forming a community based on asexuality may not appeal to all asexual people. However, as demonstrated with online forums, many asexual people benefit from sharing their experiences with others. For those people who are interested in accessing the asexual community there are number of ways of doing so.
Asexual Groups and Contacts
One of the key aims of AANZ is to encourage the formation of asexual groups throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. To this end it is hoped that this web site will become the primary source of information on asexual groups nationwide. Currently there is only one known group that meets regularly, details of which are listed below. If the idea of joining a group appeals to you but there is no group in your area then why not form one of your own? If you are interested in doing so please send your details and they will be added to the list.
Alternatively, individuals can simply add their contact details to the list. This approach might appeal to those who do not wish to be part of a formal group or those who live in sparsely populated areas, where numbers make the formation of an asexual group unlikely. If you would like your details added please contact us.

As well as posting and replying to threads registered members can contact each other using the personal messenger function on the site. A list of registered users in New Zealand has been recently compiled; at the time of writing there are over 60 registered users living in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Apositive.org forums
Apositive.org was developed as a forum for asexuals and sexuals familiar with the basics to break new ground and carry the discourse beyond "asexuality 101". Apositive aims to track the research frontlines in biology and sociology, delve into the cultural implications of an asexual demographic, explore how asexuality effects relationships and relationships shape asexuality, and develop new ways to bringing asexual theory into the public consciousness. Apositive.org welcomes people of all orientations and encourages anyone with questions and an open mind to join.
Asexuality Livejournal Community
The Asexuality Livejournal Community is for asexual people wanting to discuss living without sexuality. The community welcomes anyone with no or very little sexual attraction to others, people with low or no libido, and their allies. Those in romantic or emotional relationships or wishing to discuss the issues involved in asexual relationships are welcome to bring their input to this forum, as are those asexuals who are comfortably single.
